Orcaian is an entirely student-run initiative, and to help spread positive, educational insights about the natural world, we invite community contributions from writers, researchers, and wildlife enthusiasts alike. If you are passionate about animals, we encourage you to conduct thorough research and submit your original work whether that includes personal blog posts, engaging factoids, original photography, or creative media aimed at promoting an uplifting outlook on wildlife. Submissions can be done on our form page or sent directly to our team email, where our student creators will review your material to discuss publication possibilities; every published piece will fully credit the author with their name and provided background information. Every submission helps further our mission, and we welcome any contribution that helps foster a greater appreciation for animals.

What Is Orcaian's mission?
At Orcaian, our mission is simple: to tell the stories of the animals that can't. By highlighting their true nature, we counter fearmongering and misrepresentation, working to foster understanding and protect wildlife from eradication.

Why these websites
World Wildlife Fund (WWF) is one of the world's largest independent conservation organizations, working across land, freshwater, and marine ecosystems to preserve global biodiversity. While its scope spans terrestrial wildlife species, forest protection, and climate change, WWF also runs dedicated marine initiatives that protect coastal habitats, establish Marine Protected Areas, and promote sustainable seafood supply chains to ensure both human communities and ocean ecosystems thrive together.
National Geographic is a global non-profit scientific and educational institution, paired with a major media enterprise, dedicated to geography, science, exploration, and natural storytelling. Established in 1888 with the mission to increase and diffuse geographic knowledge, National Geographic funds groundbreaking scientific research, field expeditions, and conservation initiatives through its non-profit Society. It brings these discoveries to the public through world-class photojournalism, documentary films, magazines, and digital media, inspiring people to explore, understand, and care for the planet.
Oceana is the largest international advocacy organization focused exclusively on ocean conservation. Its core efforts center on stopping overfishing by establishing science-based catch limits, protecting crucial habitats like coral reefs, reducing bycatch, curbing marine plastic pollution, and opposing offshore oil drilling. Rather than focusing broad consumer outreach, Oceana directs its work toward influencing national legislation, environmental regulation, and international fishing policies to ensure global ocean abundance.
